Not strictly ‘nursery furniture’ but we thought that this attractive wood and aluminium safety gate from Lindam was well worth a mention.
The stair gate is something that is going to be a permanent feature in your home for a year or two, so why does it have to be ugly? Even better, the Numi gate is surprisingly cheap at just over £50 with Amazon here

John Lewis are currently stocking the Alma wooden crib from Bloom in both green and white and we love the look of it.
The attractive and space-saving cot features a minimalist design with simple stainless steel detailing.
The Alma has slated sides so that the baby can see out and you can see in. It also has 2 mattress heights which combine the benefits of a newborn bassinet or cradle with a cot/crib.

Many people don’t bother with Moses Baskets purely because the perception is that they have a limited shelf life. However, some babies do sleep in them until they are several months old. Being light they can easily be transported from nursery to telly room to mums bedroom. Of course, if you are planning on having a big family there will be repeat usage too!

We do like this Tidybooks Bookcase from Tidybooks.
Most toddlers and infants, unless they really are a ‘Baby Einstein’, recognise and choose books by their covers and not their spine. These bookcases are a practical and attractive storage solution but they also encourage reading in children by inviting them to choose and pick up their own books for storytelling.
